Rural development in North-West Region of Romania

Rural area is computed, from administrative point of view, by 2698 communes, which include 13 thousands villages. In North-West Region Development the total number of de communes is 392, those grouping a number of 1823 villages. It is a different environment, comparing with the urban one, having in. mind the profile of the economical activities, of the occupational structure, and of the resources available for economical activities running. In Romania, the rural area is a critical un-developed social and development environment. Rural development, as pillar of sustainable development, represents an important chapter for the policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development for integration to the European structures. Dimensions and implications of this area have effects on other governmental and non-governmental institutions and organisms, and, equally, on civil society.
