Globalization and the internationalization of technical communication programs: Issues for program design

This paper explores the implications of globalization on program design in technical and professional communication. The implications involve the increasing complexity of working and communicating within and across corporate, cultural, and national boundaries. But they also run much deeper and involve sociopolitical issues that touch on the ethics of living and working in globalized places. Curriculum and institutional design are posed as sites for responding to globalization within technical and professional communication.
