摘要
Langerhans cell histiocytosis is a rare disorder that usually affects children. The orbit is an uncommon location for the disease in the craniofacial skeleton, where it usually appears as an eosinophilic granuloma. Prognosis varies with age and the extent of disease. The work-up must include a skeletal survey and a bone scan to look for multifocal involvement. The treatment options range from local curettage to radiation and chemotherapy. The surgical technique for reconstruction of the defect in the lateral orbit is described.
