摘要
This work presents the general chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the waste of nickel Cuban industry and the results of a campaign of hydro-mechanical characterization tests carried out on the metallurgical residues of one of the tailing dams located in the terraces of Moa river. The characterization tests were performed in saturated and unsaturated conditions with the objective of determining the physical and mechanical properties and parameters that influence the flow and desiccation cracks development. The work is a previous step in the study of cracks influence in the pollutant transport in tailing reservoirs.
