摘要：
The Hg contaminated sediments from "Rio de Aveiro" a Portuguese coastal lagoon, is a legacy of the past that deserves attention for the years to come in order improve the ecological status of the coastal region of Aveiro. Although the export of dissolved and particulate mercury has small impact on the nearshore region of the Atlantic Ocean, in terms of public health some species caught inside the lagoon were found to exceed the threshold concentration allowed for human consumption.
