Government Procurement Issues and Supporting Role of Standardization in China

Standardization is a precondition and foundation for the construction of information, and provides necessary supports for scientific and delicacy management of commercial and e-commerce activities. Government procurement is an important part of government public expenditure and a major means for government economic regulation. Currently, China government procurement scale exceeded trillions, which is of important significance for stimulating market economy, intensifying financial functions and enhancing macroeconomic regulation. Government procurement standardization plays very important role in building government procurement order, standardizing government procurement behavior and preventing government procurement risk. This paper analyzes current situations and problems in China's government procurement, draws on advanced experiences of international organizations and foreign developed countries in standardization support for government procurement, and makes opinions and suggestions on government procurement standardization of China.
