The laminar axisymmetric wake for power-law fluids

摘要
An analytic solution is given for the asymptotic structure of the axisymmetric laminar wake of a power-law fluid valid for rheological indices n > 1/3. For dilatant fluids (n > 1) the lateral extent of the wake is finite, a feature not found in Newtonian fluid flows. Velocity profiles are compared with previously published results for two-dimensional laminar wakes of power-law fluids at selected values of n.
