摘要
The effective capacity (EC) has been recently proposed as an alternative performance metric to the conventional Shannon's ergodic capacity. This important metric takes into account the delay constraints imposed by a specific application and their impact on system performance. In this paper, we present novel analytical results on the effective capacity of wireless systems operating over fluctuating two-ray (FTR) fading channels. Note that the FTR fading model provides a much better fit to experimental data in millimeter wave and deviceto-device communications comparing to other small-scale fading models. The proposed mathematical analysis is substantiated by selected numerical and equivalent simulation performance evaluation results.
