Dermatophytes in clinically healthy cats and dogs in Vienna/Austria

摘要：
During one year (July 1992 - June 1993) hair samples from 1.022 cats and 269 dogs, all originating from Vienna, Austria, with healthy hair coat were obtained. The hair samples were collected with a flea comb. The samples were examined by fluorescence microscopy and cultivated on modified Sabouraud-Agar. In 81 cats (7.9%) and 13 dogs (4.8%) Microsporum canis was isolated. Other dermatophytes were not found.
