Optimization principles of preventive maintenance

In the past few years the maintenance of devices has became throung more changes compared to any other technical discipline. This changes were caused for reasons of huge growt in the figure and brand of equipment, more complex design, improved techniques of maintenance and permanently changing point of view on function of maintenance. The maintenance demands are still riseing due to damages that affect in significantway the operational security and the surroundings. Preventive maintenance is closely linked with the quality of the product. The pressure of achieving great technology availability with reduced costs is increasing. One of the possible solutions is represented by the preventive maintenance. When that methodology will be adopted in correct manner the price effective operation would be achieved. In this paper a short introduction into the maintenance based on the reliability approach and definitions of the objectives and its applications in the electrical power industry proposed.
