摘要
Management of forest resource information is the core of forestry information management. Introducing GIS technology to the forestry department of our country is of importance. Establishment of county-level forestry geographic information system is inevitable requirement of forestry management. This study elaborated the design and implementation process of this system in detail. This system has not only basic GIS functions but also some senior functions, which can meet the needs of forest management in Shimian County. The establishment and application of forest geographic information system greatly enhanced the forest management and decision efficiency, and fully demonstrated superiority of GIS technology which traditional method was unable to compare with. This study has important reference value and model significance.
