摘要
Combustion control technologies for premixed leanburn engines and gasoline direct injection engines developed by Mitsubishi Motors are described. Turbulence control for premixed leanburn and mixing control for direct injection are key concepts. In both concepts, tumble plays a significant role. In case of the premixed leanbun engine, tumble distortion process is optimized to produce intense turbulence with appropriate scale distribution. To realize gasoline direct injection engine, synthetic optimizations of tumble, combustion chamber shape and the spray motion are essential to prepare the gaseous mixture with proper density distribution around the spark plug. Ignition control will be the key factors controlling the combustion in the following stage.
