The Fraunhofer-Institut fur Systemtechnik und Innovations-forschung and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Technology had sent out invitations to attend a workshop at the Eisenhuttenhaus of the VDEh at the end of May 1996. The exchange of views, spanning Various branches of industry, centred on the impact and efficiency of hitherto implemented and ongoing energy-saving measures, a review of the appropriate research funding, and the fourth energy research programme presented by Federal Minister Dr. Jurgen Ruttgers.
