摘要
Passengers' airport choice in multi-airport regions (MARs) is of great interests to transport researchers, local governments, airport authorities and airline companies. This paper analyzes the airport choice of passengers departing from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to 15 destinations in different parts of the world. The results, based on stated preference (SP) data, show that air fare, access time, flight frequency and the number of airlines were the most important airport level-of-service (LOS) attributes. In contrast, the number of airport access modes, access cost, airport shopping area and queue time at check-in counters were not statistically significant. The segmentation analyses reveal important subtle variations in airport preferences among different market segments. The findings provide valuable insights on a less well-researched MAR - the Hong Kong-Pearl River Delta (HK-PRD) MAR. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
