摘要
Waste mangrove barks that chemically modified in basic condition were used as adsorbent for the removal of nickel ion from aqueous solution. The adsorbent was characterized by SEM image and BET analysis. Effecting parameters like initial pH, initial concentrations of metal ions and contact time were investigated. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were fitted to experimental data and the goodness of their fit for adsorption was compared. The adsorbent showed monolayer adsorption capacity of 7.25 mg g(-1). Kinetics and thermodynamics of Ni(II) ion removal by mangrove bark adsorbent was also studied.
