摘要
The scale effect in assessment of soil erosion is an essential problem that you can't avoid. As the changes in area size, the scale effect;in may occur as follows: (1) the volume of soil loss per unit area are changed; (2) the relations between factors which control erosion rate and; (3) the sequence of factors which be used to present the importance of each factor in erosion control might be transformed. The reason for the scale effect is considered as the change in slope structures while the scale sizes are different, such as the distribution characteristics of factors, the dynamic conjunctions among the Erosion, Transport, and Accumulation (E.T.A.) of soil erosion in space. These questions have been discussed here together with some case studies in the west of Hunan, China, and also some new concepts were given.
