摘要
Foundry is one of the most important manufacturing industries that produces castings widely used in industry. Mold temperature is one of the important technological parameters which greatly affect the product quality of foundry. Casting defects such as shrinkage, porosity and hot tear may occur if the mold temperature distribution is not controlled well. By adjusting the mold temperature to the optimal value, cast defects are largely reduced and product quality is improved. A temperature measure system using the monitor and control generated system (MCGS) configuration software is used to measure and control the mold temperature. The temperature measure system includes thermocouples, data collection module, heating elements, cooling elements, output control module, switch and computer. Trough installing thermocouples in various spots of the mold, temperature data are collected by the data collecting module. Then the collected temperature data are compared with the temperature thresholds and thus determine the switch of the heating or cooling elements installed in the mold. The real-time temperature, temperature threshold, and the heating or cooling state are shown in the operation interface. Through setting user windows with the MCGS configuration software, the real-time temperature data as well as the history temperature data are conveniently monitored and processed. This temperature measure system helps to control the mold temperature and thus improve the product quality.
