Methane coupling in atmospheric pressure glow discharge plasma with a rotary helix electrode

摘要
Methane coupling to produce C-2 hydrocarbons was studied with a newly developed rotary helix electrode in glow discharge plasma at atmospheric pressure. Effects of peak electric voltage and feed flow rates of methane and hydrogen on CH4 conversion, C-2 yield, and the selectivity were investigated using copper or stainless steel electrode. 69.85% of C-2 single process yield, 70.46% of CH4 conversion, and 99.14% of C-2 selectivity were obtained at optimized conditions.
