Static Series Voltage Regulator in Radial Distribution System and Impact of Load Growth and Load Models

摘要
This paper presented Static Series Voltage Regulator (SSVR) model in radial distribution load flow voltage compensation and loss reduction. The main contribution of the paper is: (i) incorporation of the model for SSVR in radial distribution load flow calculations, (ii) reactive power requirements from SSVR for voltage compensation and losses reduction, (iii) impact of different load models and compensation requirements from SSVR for different load models, (iv) impact of load growth and SSVR reactive power requirements during load growth, (v) comparison of system performance with different load models and load growth without and with SSVR. The percentage rate of under voltage mitigated nodes has been obtained with all load models and load growth with SSVR. The best location of SSVR for mitigation of under voltage problem, real power loss and reactive power loss reduction in the distribution systems is determined, separately for different static load models. The results have been obtained for IEEE-33 bus system.
