摘要
In view of the growing competitiveness among organizations, knowing how to recognize the value of information and using it strategically becomes a crucial factor to generate an advantage over other market participants. In this context, the absorptive capacity construct emerges as a predecessor to the capacity of companies to innovate, however, few studies address this relationship. The question that guided the research was: does the absorptive capacity influence the capacity for innovation? The objective, therefore, was to analyze the influence of absorptive capacity on the capacity for Innovation. The geographical delimitation of the research took place in the industries of the Greater ABCD, as these have always had national prominence in the scope of innovative activities. To achieve success in the proposal, a quantitative approach was used methodologically by means of structural equation modeling. The research revealed that the absorptive capacity influences the capacity to innovate, which indicates that the industries should make efforts to better manage their procedures regarding the absorption of knowledge, this being an essential element for the innovation activity to be effective.
