摘要：
An early stage in the establishment of cell polarity during chemotaxis of Dictyostelium dicoideum has been identified by a recent study; the new results also show that the development of cell polarity doss not rely upon cytoskeletal rearrangement, and may use a spatial sensing mechanism.
