Self-stabilization of coupled cavity mode locked lasers

摘要
We show that for sufficiently high pump rate, large feedback coefficient and coarsely detuned cavity lengths a coupled cavity mode locked laser (CCM), using an external resonator with an optical fiber, is insensitive against-cavity length fluctuations and an active resonator stabilization is not necessary. Such self-stabilized CCM operation originates from the self-adjustment of the laser frequency, which under appropriate conditions allows for continuous mode locked laser operation in the presence of quasi-stationary cavity length variation over many wavelengths.
