摘要
The study focuses on investigating cancer patient's ways of adjustment to advanced disease. Results indicated the ways that cancer patients adjusted to advanced cancer disease: 23.7 % of patients from the group "Living Here and Now" had accepted their life with cancer and possible death, and had found meaning in it; 18.4 % of patients from the group labeled "Negotiators" were convinced that their disease is curable or can be controlled; 18.4 % of patients from the group "Waiting for Recovery" believed that their disease could be treated and they denied the threat of disease to themselves; 7.9 % of patients, from the group "Waiting for a Miracle" perceived their disease as threatening but believed in a miracle and recovery; 31.6 % of patients, from the group "Waiting for Death" believed that their disease indicated a painful and imminent death.
