摘要
Software tools support software development processes and reflect the types of applications being developed. Or,er the past 20 years, applications have evolved significantly, fi om those based on a single processor. to client-server to n-tier Web-based. Future applications will take advantage of emerging technologies ii? high-bandwidth networking, "small" mobile devices, and speech processing. Future tools will have to evolve to support development of applications that use those technologies.
