摘要
Shock and vibration (SV) mounting system improves durability of engine and other running machine by reducing unwanted motion. This system is used extensively to isolate machinery (industrial & marine), civil engineering structure (base isolation in building, bridges etc.) and sensitive components from foundation/base. In addition to the above, in vehicular, marine & some industrial machine as well as seismic application, isolators are also expect to lower the impact of shock from base to isolators object and vice-versa. As rubber is soft and visco-elastic material it has a unique combination of elastic (spring) and viscous (damping) properties makes it very useful material for SV mount. Generally SV mount consist of vulcanized rubber bonded to metal part which facilitate load distribution and installation. For this development work, Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR) elastomer is used as shock and vibration absorbing part of mount as this elastomer can be designed to get better mechanical properties with improved service life.
