摘要
The effects of frequency variation on the induction heating process were investigated for two alloys using the IMPRESSTM1 finite element analysis software. Adjusting the frequency of the current in the coil to complement the material's electrical and thermal resistivity can decrease the amount of time required to reach the desired Semi-Solid Metalworking (SSM) solid fraction. The proper frequency selection increases the material temperature uniformity and the induction heating efficiency. This paper discusses the capabilities of the induction heating model and identifies the benefits of selecting the correct current frequency for heating aluminum and titanium alloys.
