Wrist arthrography today

Wrist arthrography has received criticism in recent years for being inaccurate in diagnosing ligament pathology. Much of this criticism is because of an incomplete understanding of the nature of wrist Ligament trauma and a misunderstanding of arthrographic criteria for abnormality rather than an inherent limitation of the examination. Armed with a reliable technical approach and an understanding of the anatomy and the features of ligament trauma, the radiologist can provide an assessment of the intraarticular structures, which is equivalent to, and in some ways superior to, that of arthroscopy.
