Leadership and involvement of teaching researchers in higher education

摘要
A strategic goal of german universities is to improve and secure teaching quality. Therefore many teaching positions for mid-level academics were created within the framework of the national initiative "Quality Teaching Pact". Achieving this strategic objective demands active leadership and involvement of these researchers by the professorship. Drawing on an analysis of 20 guided interviews based on social capital theory by Badura this article shows the following conclusions: The importance of organizational involvement of researchers is a main instrument for reaching the university goals. Also as professors in teaching often refuse to lead active and strategically, mid-level academics shotild be addressed for the task of improving teaching quality.
