Effect of rice-husk ash on mechanical behavior and durability of high-performance concrete

摘要
Results of an sperimental study on the physical. and chemical properties of the rice-husk ash (RHA), and properties of hardened concrete incorporating the same ash are presented. In addition to the effects of the percentage of RHA, the age and the water-cementitious materials ratio on the properties investigated, the properties of the RHA concrete were also compared with those of cement portland concrete without rice-husk ash and relationships are proposed for calculating the mechanical properties from the values of the variables investigated. T e concrete with rice-husk ash showed excellent performance and resistance, better compressive strength and less permeability than the control concrete, but its resistance to splitting tensile, modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity was similar to those of control concrete.
