Role-adapted access to medical data: Experiences with model-based development

In this Chapter we revisit a task-driven and model-based development technique and show its support for role-specific health-care data processing. We provide a case study that aimed towards role-based adaptation for universal accessible software systems driven by business process definitions and a common set of data and functions for a diverse set of user groups. The tests of the model-based TADEUS framework, its method, and tool enabling adaptability in light of the acquired business processes were performed for an Upper Austrian hospital successfully. The application of the TADEUS technique reveals the benefits of role-based design of universally accessible software systems.
