An Interacting Micro-Cracks Damage Constitutive Model for Alumina Ceramics under Uniaxial Compression

摘要
The Westergaard stress function is used to estimate the influence of interaction on the stress intensity factor. A damage constitutive model, in which damage parameter is related to the initial crack length, tensile crack length, and crack spacing, is developed for alumina under uniaxial compressive loadings. The crack nucleation parameters are discussed together with the crack spacing and initial crack length in the damage constitutive model on the dynamic fracture toughness. The modeling stress-strain curve shows good agreement with experimental results.
