Corrosion inhibition of copper in HCl under flow conditions

摘要
The influence of the flow rate and the temperature on inhibiting efficiency of 4-methyl-5-hydroxylmethylimidazole on copper corrosion in hydrochloric acid was investigated. The results obtained were compared with the efficiency of commerical inhibitor for copper corrosion in the same conditions. The study was performed using electrochemical methods of potentiostatic polarization (Tafel extrapolation and polarization resistance determination). The results of the investigation show that now rate and temperature influence corrosion of copper in uninhibited as well as in inhibited hydrochloric acid.
