THE GREATNESS OF SPAIN IN THE ORIGIN AND TRANSFORMATION OF THE SOCIETY OF THE MODERN AGE. SPACES, PRACTICES AND STRATEGIES FOR DISTINCTION (XV-XIX CENTURIES)

The authors analyze greatness as a vantage point from which to observe the evolution of modern society. From this consideration, the authors caracterizing the changing character of the distinction and its capacity to adapt to a social order that from the beginning of the 16th century until well into the 19th century will continue to privilege a small number of people well above the rest. As a result of this perspective, the authors present the general objectives of the nine studies gathered in this monographic issue.
