Rethinking the Century of Refugees. Forced Migrations in the History of the Twentieth Century

The 20th century marked a turning point in the history of forced migrations, which reached a dramatic peak during the years of the Second World War. The contributions proposed provide new interpretative keys in the study of these phenomena by focusing on the << inner dynamics >> of migrations rather than on their origins. This change o f perspective has led to the emergence of some new features, including greater reflection on the different types of displacement, as well as a redefinition of the boundaries of refugee studies. Finally, lines of research that have not yet been explored are suggested.
