摘要
The increase in international migration as a result of globalization supports the growth of the countries of origin. Development will be more or less inclusive depending on the characteristics of countries, those of migrants and their diaspora, and also government policies. A literature review of recent studies emphasizes the importance of migrant remittances for reducing poverty and developing financial inclusion in countries of origin despite still high transfer fees. Increasingly skilled migration can develop international trade, foreign direct investment, with the help of diasporas, and increase productivity through skills transfer. Migration also has a significant impact on the development of host countries. Immigrants often have jobs in segmented labor markets that are com-plementary jobs to those of natives and they contribute to the growth of host countries. Skilled migrants can also stimulate innovation. This is the reason why host countries must conduct more open immigration and integration policies. This special issue on mi-gration and inclusive development gathers a series of contributions which aim to bring some additional answers to these questions.
