History of Maltsvet's Religion and Emigration to the Crimea

This year marks the passing of 150 years since the emigration of Estonians to the Crimea and the establishment of Estonian settlements on the Crimean Peninsula. This is expressed in sources by the manuscript written by G. Malts (566 pages) and the novel Prohvet Maltsvet (Prophet Maltsvet, 1906/1908) by E. Vilde about the emigration of Estonians to the Crimea based on that manuscript. A lengthy excerpt of the manuscript, describing the journey of three reconnoitres (G. Malts, J. Leinberg, alias Prophet Maltsvet and their translator) to the Crimea and back, by G. Malts is published in observance of this anniversary.
