摘要：

A formulation is presented to estimate the largest time-history response of structures subjected to a certain excitation wave whose Fourier coefficients are made known. The formulation does not employ direct time integration but is based on the interval estimation of the response obtained as the general solution of the equation of motion. The numerical examples are compared with the simulation of the response and show that the estimate is on conservative side.
