Starting with the essential elements of medical equipment maintenance, a multitude of interdependent factors can be easily identified at all stages of medical equipment life, which, if neglected, greatly complicates the maintenance of the equipment, leading to high operating costs. If maintenance capabilities are considered at an early planning and purchasing stage, maintenance issues can be minimized. Proper maintenance throughout the life cycle of medical equipment involves all activities related to ensuring an adequate level of maintenance and limiting interruptions of medical devices with minor effects on medical activity. This paper proposes to analyze the life cycle of medical equipment in correlation with the application of a coherent technology management plan.
