摘要
Owing to the rapid development of biotechnology, enzymes are being used more frequently in the manufacturing industry, especially in the pulp and paper industry. Compared with traditional pulping, biopulping has the advantage of requiring mild reaction conditions, which makes it more ecofriendly and faster than other methods. When enzymes are combined with other pulping technologies, maximum pulping efficiency can be ensured and pollution could be reduced. However, to maximize pulping efficiency, control pulping costs, and achieve the best quality paper, enzymatic methods are often combined with other pulping technologies. Therefore, enzyme production costs for papermaking remains a problem to be addressed in future research. [GRAPHICS] .
