ECO-EFFICIENCY AND INNOVATION IN THE METAL-PROCESSING INDUSTRY OF VALENCIA

International tendencies have brought competition to extreme levels and have resulted in markets demanding variables linked to the natural environment, such as technology, processes and products. This situation is reflected by the relationship between the natural environment and growth. In this paper, we will analyse how companies forming part of the metal-processing industry have incorporated the environmental variable in their strategic processes. We will examine how they have contributed to sustainable development as well as increasing their competitiveness through innovation. Final recommendations are given for aspects to be prioritised in the entrepreneurial system in order to guarantee an efficient environmental approach.
