摘要
We have recently described that immunization with bovine COMP can cause arthritis in susceptible rat strains. Here we report the results of an immunohistochemical staining for various cell surface markers in joints from rats with COMP-arthritis. At the peak of disease a strong infiltration of monocytes/macrophages and granulocytes was apparent in arthritic joints, while T-cell infiltration was moderate. These results demonstrate similarities to those described for human rheumatoid arthritis (RA). as well as previous findings in the experimental model of collagen type II arthritis.
