摘要
To improve performance and efficiency of applications, a right balance among CPU throughput, memory performance and I/O subsystem is required. With parallel processors increasing the number crunching capabilities, the limitations of I/O systems have come to fore and have become the major bottleneck in achieving better turnaround times for large I/O bound jobs in particular. In this paper, we discuss the design, implementation and performance of a novel distributed memory file system that utilizes the free memory of cluster nodes over different interconnects to assuage the above-mentioned problem.
