The Empirical Research on the Willingness and Influencing Factors of Farmers to Deal with Crop Straw: Based on a Survey of 4100 Farmers

The improper disposal of crops straw can result in environmental pollution besides the waste of resources. We established the Logistic regression model to analyze the farmers' willingness to deal with the straws as well as its influencing factors by the field survey on 3,090 farmers on Huang-Huai plain. Research results indicates that some factors such as political conditions, education degree, duties in village, straw using cognitive, family agricultural laborpopulation number, the familiarity of the political straw rod subsidies, farming area, farming system, the implement ion of the political subsides, straw industry development, straw using technology master situation have positive impacts on the willingness to utilize the straws, while others like age, part-time work degree, the cost-effective of using straw rod, produced negative effects. The one which make the great influence is the cost-benefit to use straws, followed by the familiarity of the political straw rod subsidies, straw using technology master situation, farming system and other factors. To promote the effective utilization of crop straws, we should improve farmers' awareness to utilize the straws continuously; establish multivariate compensation motivation mechanism; increase the intensity of straw utilization technology; improve the profits of straw utilization.
