摘要：
The worldwide epidemic of HIV infection among women of reproductive age has had devastating public health consequences. Women have suffered unprecedented morbidity and mortality, With no apparent cure on the horizon and the lack of affordable therapies implementation of effective HIV prevention strategies assume paramount importance. The purpose of this review is to examine the impact on the risk of HIV transmission of 4 major HIV prevention strategies: behavior change, antepartum HIV testing and counseling, perinatal zidovudine use and modification of obstetrical practices.
