KAFKA'S COLLECTIVE OF DOGS IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERNITY Kafka - Fleck - Halbwachs

The aim of this article is to outline the secular and/or political background of the collectives of Franz Kafka, using the example of the short story "Forschungen eines Hundes" ('Researches of a Dog'). The article not only gives a critical presentation of the discourses around collectives circulating at the time, exploring Kafka's kinship with Maurice Halbwachs and Ludwik Fleck, but it also offers a new reading of Kafka's text as a sign of the discursive interest of Modernism in collectives.
