Beyond the initial management of the "ABCs" there are a number of procedures that may be carried out for the stabilization and treatment of the patient with acute myocardial infarction. Procedures discussed include cardioversion/defibrillation, transcutaneous cardiac pacing, and transvenous cardiac pacing. Execution of each procedure is described in detail, along with the associated indications, contraindications, and complications.
