摘要
A cumulative distribution function proposed by Weibull, that characterizes the strength of brittle materials was studied and best estimate of the Weibull modulus (m) was obtained. The method used the empirical correction factor, which was obtained using linear least square analysis on a large number of simulated data sets generated using the Monte Carlo method. The procedure provided the best estimate of m with a significantly smaller bias and could be applied to both future and historic data sets.
