Luminescence analysis of trace amounts of lead in metallic magnesium

摘要
A method for determination of trace amounts of lead in metallic magnesium by luminescence analysis based on detecting the intensity aia flash-up of its green luminescence (lambda = 490 nm), which is observed In freezing out (-180 degrees C) chloride complexes, is described. Lead is determined in standard samples of magnesium at the level of 3 x 10(-3) - 1 x 10(-2)% with a relative standard deviation of 0.07 - 0.17 by the addition method. The results obtained are in good agreement with data of determination by the atomic-absorption method with electrothermal atomization.
