The management of change within a UK corrugated manufacturing company.

Change within a traditional manufacturing company, with long serving employees, will always be a difficult one. The main fear of change is the loss of jobs and employees with entrenched attitudes do not realise that if change does not happen, then loss of jobs on a larger scale is likely to be the outcome. This paper looks at how a Teaching Company Associate (TCA) has been used to implement change in the area of Total Productive Maintenance. The main purpose being to improve the overall equipment effectiveness by getting maintenance to work with manufacturing personnel and the setting up of autonomous groups. The paper covers some of the mechanisms used and the outcomes along with the benefits and problems associated with using a TCA.
