摘要
The fact that very small aspect changes can drastically alter the profile of an aircraft implies that a huge number of profiles would be required to characterize an aircraft from all possible aspects. This make a look-up table approach to classification impractical in the short-wavelength limit. A deterministic model and a conditionally Gaussian model for high-resolution range profiles (HRRP) are used, and the recognition performance under each model are compared by using one and more than one range profile. The experimental results show that assumption of Gaussian distribution by using 10 range profiles improve the recognition performance.
